Bainbridge Dance Center is proud to present our 45th Annual Student Performances. These productions are an island tradition and showcase dancers ages four to adult in ballet, contemporary, composition, hip hop, modern and tap. Our Advanced Ballet Program will present Alice in Wonderland featuring our graduating seniors Juliette Woods (Alice), Lillian Bell (White Rabbit), Margaret Coulter (Mad Hatter) and Vera Cromrich (Queen of Hearts). Every performance has a different cast of classes and students. All of Us, Quietly

What lives beneath the version of ourselves we show the world?

All of Us, Quietly is an intimate, ensemble-driven new musical that explores the quiet, often unseen struggles carried behind the carefully curated facades of everyday life. Through the interwoven journeys of four characters, the piece invites us into the quiet moments that shape us from the shadows.

In a cultural moment defined by profound unrest, All of Us, Quietly serves as an important reminder that while we may break apart silently and alone, true healing only happens when we step into the light, together.

This work-in-progress, presented as part of BPA’s Studio Series, and produced in partnership with bitLAB, is a unique opportunity to experience a new musical in development and to be part of its evolving journey.

FAQs for Attending a Show at Bloedel

Where is the performance?

Performances take place at Bloedel Reserve, located at 7571 NE Dolphin Drive on Bainbridge Island. The production takes place in near the Sheep Sheds a short walk into the Reserve from the parking area.

What time should I arrive?

Please plan to arrive between 6:00 PM and 6:45 PM to allow time to find parking, walk to the performance area, and claim your seating area before the show starts at 7:00 PM. Parking attendants will help guide you when you arrive.

Can I walk through the Reserve before the show?

Yes, if you wish to walk the reserve prior to the performance, you’ll need to buy a separate ticket through Bloedel Reserve’s website, and arrive at an earlier time. Please visit bloedelreserve.org/tickets to book a visit earlier in the day.

What kind of seating should I bring?

We recommend bringing a low lawn chair or a blanket if you’d like to sit close to the front. Low lawn chairs go behind the blankets, and regular-height chairs will be placed toward the back so everyone has a good view. Seating is managed on a first-come-first-served basis, and ushers will help you get settled when you arrive.

Is the area accessible if I have limited mobility?

While there’s no ADA parking near the performance area, a shuttle service that transports patrons from the parking lot to the performance area is available for those who need it. Please note, there will be no shuttle service available on August 8th. Please let us know whether you will need to make use of the shuttle service during the ticket purchase process.

Can I bring food or drinks?

You’re welcome to bring a picnic. However, please note that alcohol is not allowed at this event. Bloedel Reserve staff will be on hand to help ensure all guidelines are followed.

What else should I know about rules or restrictions?

No smoking or pets are allowed Bloedel Reserve or at this event, though service animals are always welcome. We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience, and appreciate your help in respecting the Reserve’s policies.

What if it rains?

The show will proceed in the event of light rain, so it’s a good idea to bring layers and dress warmly. If inclement weather becomes too problematic, the production team may decide to cancel for safety reasons. If that happens, we will assist in reserving tickets to another performance on a different night, or issuing a refund.

Art critic John Ruskin and his wife Effie invite the young artist John Everett Millais to join them on a trip to the Scottish Highlands, unwittingly setting the stage for what would become one of the greatest scandals of Victorian England. As painful secrets of the Ruskins’ marriage emerge, Effie finds refuge in her growing friendship with Millais. A gripping exploration of love, repression, betrayal, at the crossroads of art, morality, and personal freedom.

Reckless Son, the nationally acclaimed solo show written and performed by singer-songwriter Matt Butler, was inspired by his journey performing over 100 concerts in jails and prisons across the country. As heard on NPR Morning Edition and featured in SPIN’s Album of the Year list, Reckless Son sheds light on the stories of people who have experienced incarceration.

Based on Alison Bechdel’s landmark graphic memoir, Fun Home is a Tony Award-winning musical about queer identity, family, and the courage to live authentically. As Alison comes of age and embraces her identity as a lesbian, she begins to recognize unexpected parallels between her own journey and the hidden life of her father, whose carefully constructed world conceals long-held secrets.

Widely regarded as one of the most important musicals of the 21st century, Fun Home is both a celebration of queer self-discovery and a deeply moving exploration of the cost of hiding who we are. Told through a richly layered blend of memory, music, and storytelling, it’s a heartbreaking yet life-affirming story that asks difficult questions, while meeting its characters with extraordinary compassion.
